Follow up on the June 5 Parish Meeting on Declining Attendance

At our Parish Meeting in June, we reviewed our proposed Action Plan to address our declining Mass attendance. Over the summer, we have expanded our plan to visit approximately two hundred and twenty-five families no longer attending Assumption BVM Parish. We are completing detailed arrangements with the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate Sisters to train our visitors. The training will take place in the Parish Life Center on October 5th and repeated on October 12th. The visitations will begin on October 12th. A number of parishioners have volunteered to participate in the visitation. However, we need a few more to lighten the load. In addition to the visitation, we have begun conducting discussions with those parishioners who notify us they are leaving the parish.
