The strength of a parish, on the human level, is in its volunteers. A parish simply cannot operate without them. By its nature, it is a voluntary organization – no one is forced to join it. A parish is supported by voluntary contributions and labor. It must have a core of paid staff, but it can fulfill its mission only through the involvement of many parishioners. I bring this topic up because we are very much in need of volunteers at the Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses. There is a need in the following areas:
Recently, we introduced a new way for you to support our parish offertory and second collections: Faith Direct. Faith Direct enables parishioners to make your Church contributions through either direct debit from your checking/ savings account or through your credit/debit card. No more writing checks or searching for envelopes on the way out the door. Please read below for contact information.
On behalf of the Parish, I’d like to thank all the people who helped to plan, coordinate and work on the Spaghetti Dinner. This is the parish’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and it has turned out to be our largest social event, too! A total of 1,213 dinners were served. This year’s net profit is $13,838.35 . Mark your calendar for next year’s dinner, April 29, 2018!!!
Our Parish will have a special Mass at 10 am honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Mother of God. We will have a beautiful outdoor procession to the statue of Mary in front of the Church, Marian hymns, and May Crowning. Families are encouraged to attend. First Communicants are asked to wear their First Communion attire and participate in the May Procession.
