Manna Food bags will be distributed this weekend, May 19/20. Kindly return your filled Manna bag to Church on June 2/3 weekend. Canned food items in greatest need are beef stew, tuna fish, canned fruit & vegetables, pasta and soup. Thank you for reaching out to people in crisis situations. The food items will help stock our local food pantry at St. Rocco’s in Avondale for the summer months when donations are low, but the need for food continues.

Good News! Over a number of years, the Parish fell behind in payments to the Archdiocese for our annual assessment for services. The assessment is the percentage of Parish income which is assessed by the Archdiocese to help pay for its operations, to support parishes in economically poor sections of the Archdiocese, and to contribute to the Archdiocese contributions to the Vatican. In the period in which ABVM did not pay assessments the amount was 10.5% annually. In October 2013 we owed $294,619. At that time, with the generous support of our parishioners, we initiated a fast track schedule to pay off the back assessments. We are pleased to report that effort has been successful. Our back assessments have been paid completely. Thank you.
