At our Parish Meeting in June, we reviewed our proposed Action Plan to address our declining Mass attendance. Over the summer, we have expanded our plan to visit approximately two hundred and twenty-five families no longer attending Assumption BVM Parish. We are completing detailed arrangements with the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate Sisters to train our visitors. The training will take place in the Parish Life Center on October 5th and repeated on October 12th. The visitations will begin on October 12th. A number of parishioners have volunteered to participate in the visitation. However, we need a few more to lighten the load. If interested in joining the volunteers, please contact Deacon Mike DeGrasse at [email protected]. In addition to the visitation, we have begun conducting discussions with those parishioners who notify us they are leaving the parish.

Almost two hundred parishioners, including a great work team, attended the successful Parish Picnic on a beautiful September day last weekend. We are grateful to all who attended. We are also grateful to the many who helped plan and prepare, executed the plan and cleaned-up from the picnic. Special thanks go to the Stewardship Committee, the Knights of Columbus and the Ladies Auxiliary for their work. We also thank the families who remained to support the clean-up work. It was a great day for the parish. We are planning for next year already.

The ABVM Brew Crew is for males over 18 that want to hang with a group of guys that can discuss issues of the day, spiritual and secular, that will open you up to God's presence in an open, non judgemental environment. Please contact Eric Moran with any questions: [email protected]

ALL PARISHIONERS. The Stewardship Committee of the Parish Development Council and Father Scott are pleased to sponsor a picnic to show our appreciation to all our parishioners. The picnic will be held in the Parish Center and on church grounds on Sunday, September 15, 2019 after the Noon Mass until 4 PM.
