Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, is asking all Catholics to dedicate Friday, October 27 as a day of prayer and fasting for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine and Israel. Archbishop Pérez also asks us to pray and fast for this intention in our churches. On Friday we will pray a Rosary for peace before the morning Mass at 7:45 a.m. followed by Mass for Peace at 8:15 a.m. Immediately following Mass Father Scott will lead a Stations of the Cross for this specific intention. Everyone is also invited to the cathedral for a Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice presided by Archbishop Pérez on Friday at 12:05 p.m. He will be joined by Archbishop Borys Gudziak, Metropolitan Archbishop for Ukrainian Catholics in the United States. You may follow the Mass on Vimeo or the Archbishop's Facebook page https://vimeo.com/event/2470138 and https://www.facebook.com/ArchbishopPerez.

The Holy Father and the organizers of the upcoming Synod in Rome (October 4-29, 2023) have encouraged prayer to take place around the world for the work of the Synod in the days leading up to this international gathering and during the course of its proceedings. Archbishop Perez invites the clergy and lay faithful of the Archdiocese to respond to this invitation with the attached prayer and intentions for the Universal Prayer.
